Lisa Barer is a yoga and mindfulness teacher born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, living in Calgary, Alberta
Lisa is known for her compassionate and therapeutic approach to teaching. Having suffered from physiological ailments herself (including Malalignment Syndrome, scoliosis in her spine, and anxiety driven Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Lisa understands how valuable a gentle and renewing yoga and meditation practice can be to chronic conditions.
In addition to being a certified Yoga Teacher (Langara College, 2012) Lisa has undertaken professional training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Jon Kabat-Zinn (2014), and in Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater (Certified Relax and Renew Trainer® (2012)).
Lisa also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Emily Carr University, as well as having studied psychology at both UBC and Adler University. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Mindfulness Studies through Lesley University.
